Legal Live Performance on top of the bridge in Hay-on-Wye – 4 pm on Sunday 10th July
Following the success of the VE Day socially distanced street party, we’ve already done a couple more gigs, entertaining our immediate neighbors and passers-by. We didn’t advertise because we didn’t think it was right to encourage people to gather.
One was on top of the Bridge in Hay-on-Wye [picture above]
And one was underneath it. The weather was so bad that Martin wore gloves.
This Sunday (10th July) we’ll be back on top.
It’s easier for people to be safely distanced up there.
The Bean Box cafe under the Bridge will be open for takeaway drinks.
So do come down… bring a chair! Spread out across the Bridge in Hay and enjoy our 30-minute cabaret of smashing music from the 20s/30s/40s.
Kick-off at 4 pm!
These are strange times, when musicians have to think outside the box to do what comes naturally.
Lots of people are live-streaming. In the classic jazz field, I only know of Enrico Tomasso and Ewan Bleach, but there must be more world-wide. All the best rhythm players around today are much in demand. The front-liners need them to play along to.
Martin has provided accompaniments for both Enrico’s and Ewan’s live-streaming shows. Check out their sites for information:

And if you do come on Sunday, and would like to show your appreciation to our tipping jar, please donate to https://paypal.me/hayjazz
We will pass one-third of all donations to Dial-a-Ride in Hay-on-Wye, which is doing really great work to help our local elderly and vulnerable in the time of Covid and beyond. The remaining two thirds will be split between the musicians.
Yay! Thank you kindly. And if you don’t want to donate, nil desperandum, please just enjoy the music.
